Northside Maccabi Basketball Club Mens ‘C’ grade team, The Maccabi Kings have made the Grand Final.
As minor premiers, Northside Maccabi have had a successful season despite being plagued by injury with 2 players out currently for extended periods including Club President, Yoel Hyman. They will face their arch nemisis, the Norfolk Bearcats in the Grand Final. The Maccabi Kings lost to the Norfolk Bearcats in the semi final 2 weeks ago by 5 points in a torrid game.

In the Final, the team proved their worth with only 5 players by defeating Spirytus 30-29. After the Kings led early on in the game, Spirytus managed to get ahead and the game went basket for basket until 5 minutes before the end when the opposition got 4 points ahead. The Kings dug in deep and came up with the winning points in the final minute of play. Veteran player, Garry Hyman said ” the boys really pulled something special out of the bag tonight and deserve to be in the grand final. We have played consistently all season despite the injury worries and we are really looking forward to the final game of the season”.

Tipoff at 7pm.

Next Sunday night  at North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre, corner of Pole Lane and Hume St, Crows Nest.
