The blogger has tried to enter New Zealand and has ended up in custody.

O’Connell, is outspoken and critical of Israel and describes Israel as “Zionist power.”

It’s understood that the Australian citizen travelled to New Zealand and was seeking political asylum but has been arrested.

Immigration NZ has confirmed that O’Connell has been detained at the border.

“This individual had his entry permission to New Zealand revoked on character grounds and is now in custody,” a spokesperson confirmed.

The Corrections Department has declined to comment on O’Connell’s whereabouts and it’s not clear where he’s currently being held.

The Australian is an advocate of conspiracy theories related to a Jewish Elite. Recent video’s on his website apportion this month’s Las Vegas Shooting on an “Israeli kill squad.”

In 2011, the 46-year-old was sentenced to three years in jail in Australia.  The charges related to the posting of a verbal attack he had with Stanley Keyser and Timothy Peach – both Jewish.

An argument broke out between the three men at an IGA supermarket in South Perth on May 2, 2009, where a Friends of Palestine group was holding a protest against Israeli oranges.

O’Connell was using a video camera at the event and in a video he later posted online, he labeled Mr Keyser a “racist, homicidal maniac”.

During the trial, Jude Wisbey said O’Connell showed no remorse and his behaviour “was that of a bully”.

O’Connell’s Twitter bio profiles him as currently being “on the run.”
