A 33-minute anti-abortion video available on YouTube was dropped as a DVD into the letterboxes of the WA city of Albany…but before one word of abortion is mentioned viewers get a thirteen-minute Holocaust lecture featuring graphic images.

The 2011 video is introduced by Ray Comfort who tells his the audience that he is Jewish.

However, Wikipedia describes him as a New Zealand Christian minister and evangelist who lives in the United States.

The Executive Council of Australian Jewry’s Research Officer Julie Nathan told J-Wire: “It is unfortunate that an anti-abortion video consistently refers to abortion in the US as the “American Holocaust”. Regardless of one’s views on abortion, the Holocaust was the result of a systematic and comprehensive plan by a state to murder every Jew in Europe – man, woman and child – because of their ethnicity. There is no comparison with any contemporary political or social issue.

Although the video producers seem to have had no intent to denigrate or belittle the Holocaust, that has been the effect. This is made worse by the fact that they have distributed the DVD in people’s mailboxes, unsolicited.”

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the Anti-Defamation Commission said: “Any attempt  to argue the case against abortion by cynically exploiting, distorting and misusing of the memory of those murdered in the Holocaust is perverse. While people are entitled to hold strong convictions about this difficult and controversial issue, there is no moral equivalency between the systematic extermination of millions by Hitler’s regime and abortion, and such inappropriate comparisons are an offensive and outrageous abuse of the most painful chapter in human history.

Those who made the film and those distributing it should be ashamed for cheapening and trivialising the lives of  the 6 million Jews and millions of other victims who perished at the hands of the Nazis in order to promote their agenda.”
