The United States has been reported as having pulled out of the Durban 2 Conference…author Alan Gold wrote in “The Australian” asking Australia to consider doing the same.

He reflects on Durban 1 for J-Wire…The decision by the Obama Administration to pull out of the forthcoming Durban II United Nations anti-racism conference is wonderful news for those of us who were members of the 120-member Jewish delegation at the first hate-fest in South Africa in 2001.

The Agenda for Durban II was always aimed at denying the Holocaust, vilifying and delegitimizing Israel, and elevating Islamophobia into a category which made it immune to media criticism.

When America first announced it was going to attend Durban II in Geneva, the decision sent a shudder of horror through those of us who had been victims of Islamist antisemitism in Durban.
Now that the decision has been reversed, almost certainly because for the first time the American delegation saw the true antisemitic agenda of states who are serial abusers of their own peoples’ human rights, the likelihood is that Italy, the UK and England will follow and not attend.
Hopefully, Durban II will also be boycotted by the entire European Union. If the world shows the UN’s Human Rights Council that it will not participate in it’s continuous anti-Israel agenda,  some form of sanity and moral perspective on human rights may eventuate.
