Tamimi was arrested along with her mother, Nariman, who took video of Ahed slapping soldiers across the face and posted it online.

Ahed Tamimi, who was 16 when she was arrested, admitted to the aggravated assault of an Israel Defense Forces’ soldier, incitement to violence and disrupting soldiers on two other occasions, in a plea deal.

Nariman plead guilty for crimes of incitement, disrupting a soldier, and assisting in the assault of a soldier.

The pair are expected to visit the grave of former Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in Ramallah and then to hold a press conference at their home in Nebi Saleh, near the Jewish community of Halamish in Samaria.

Hundreds of chairs were placed outside the Tamimi house in anticipation of streams of Arab well-wishers, and the roof was festooned with Palestinian flags.

After the two Tamimi women were released, Ahed’s father and Nariman’s husband, Bassem, said Ahed managed to take her high school exams while in prison. Although she was anticipating enrolling in a Palestinian Authority university, she is now considering attending one of several universities abroad that have offered her scholarships.

The Tamimi clan has become famous for provoking, attacking and berating Israeli soldiers in photographs and videos.
