ABC covers the St Ives Eruv

As Jewish families sat down to Shabbat dinner on Friday evening, the ABC’s Stateline program featured the raging debate over the establishment of an Eruv  in the Sydney suburb of St Ives.

Vic Alhadeff, CEO of the New South Wales Jewish Board of Deputies spoke on behalf of the community in the detailed report by Deborah Cornwell.

    I sincerely sympathise withe the Jewish community who are unable to practise their sabbath easily without an easy to locate eruv…..but I must say that a “real virtual” eruv established with technology ie google maps, + a hand held remote web device (ultimately an iPhone with built-in app) would be the most considerate solution for the entire community (not just Jewish).

    I checked out the ajnwatch site and they clearly show the ACA reporter inciting that redneck mob. Someone should forward that blog to the authorities and let them see for themselves what a so-called respectable program is stirring up
