Ambassador Cannan writes: “Rosh Hashanah is a time for reflection and new beginnings. This feels especially significant for me as  the new Australian Ambassador to Israel.

For me, the year ahead will be about forging new relationships with the people of Israel and strengthening ties with Australia’s many friends in this great country.

The year ahead will also involve major Australian commemorations in Israel marking the centenary of the Battle of Beersheba, so it will also be an important time for reflection on the sacrifice of others.

I wish all my new friends in Israel, and in Australia’s Jewish community, a blessed Rosh Hashanah and rewarding and peaceful High Holidays.”
