The event was organised by the NSW Association of Jewish Ex Servicemen and Women (NAJEX) at the Memorial housed within the Sydney Jewish Museum.

Over 170 guests participated in a wreath laying ceremony and service attended by Minister Victor Dominello MLA, representing the Premier of NSW and Walter Secord MLC, representing the Leader of the Opposition as well as representatives from NSW Police, Legacy, the War Widows Guild, the Australian National Service Association, and many Jewish communal leaders. The Judean Scout and Cub Groups provided the official Colour Party.

Guest speaker was Wing Commander Professor Lisa Jackson-Pulver AM, who is an Indigenous Australian and Jewish. Lisa spoke most eloquently about the similarity between Indigenous and Jewish service and experience in the Australian Armed Forces.

President of NAJEX, Charles Aronson, told J-Wire: “We hold the ceremony on the Sunday preceding Anzac Day to allow our members to participate on the day itself.”

The Last Post was played by Moriah student Lewis Orner.
