Nitza Lowenstein

Nitza is still very passionate about her roll of covering news, current affairs and Jewish life and culture in Australia.

Over her distinguished career, the Israeli-born executive producer has interviewed an impressive list of prime ministers, Nobel Prize winners, diplomats, community leaders as well as covered issues including Israeli and Australian politics, religion,  to health and medicine, environment, arts and culture, high-tech,  social issues, sports and history.

Nitza said: “I am proud of the fact that the program continues to be a show case of talent with incredible people, shakers and movers being interviewed, with expertise in vast variety of fields.

I am very fortunate and blessed not just that I have been able to enrich the lives of thousands of listeners over the years, but also to enrich my own life”…

As an executive producer at SBS I am faced with daily challenges and it is a constant learning process, which I love”

She added “It was a big deal when I applied for the job at SBS more than 30 years ago. I had to go through vigorous process to be the successful applicant.

Once I got the job, I was thrown into the deep end and managed to “swim” without any preparations or training”.

“I received a phone call from the program manager on the Tuesday night, giving me less than 24 hours to have my debut broadcast as the previous broadcaster walked out…

I did it and never looked back”.

My message to my listeners is in the spirit of 2018:  please download SBS Hebrew app unto your smart phone, carry me in your pocket and listen to me any time anywhere you are…
