Executive Chef Boris Cuzon has been extensively involved in OBK for over a year. He has raised the professional standards in the kitchen ensuring that OBK has the capacity to help the community every day.

Mr. Cuzon said “We are very proud to be associated with OBK. In fact, Sofitel was a finalist in the recent HM (Hotel Management) Awards in recognition of the community work we undertake with Our Big Kitchen.”

“Being part of the Jewish New Year through food is a fitting tribute to the work OBK does”, Mr Cuzon said.

Vice President of Sofitel Luxury Hotels Pacific, Mr Ian Alexandre visited OBK on Sunday afternoon to oversee proceedings for the coming two evenings.

“Mr. Cuzon is supported by 15 staff from the hotel including senior chefs, service and standards staff. It is a wonderful opportunity to support a Jewish run organisation which supports not only its own community but also the wider community needs. We wish Rabbi and Laya Slavin and the whole Jewish community a sweet and healthy New Year” Mr. Alexandre said.

Founding Director of OBK, Rabbi Slavin believes that the Kitchen now has a responsibility to live up to the standard set by the Sofitel.

“It is very important to start a year the way we intend it to be for the remainder of the year. Sofitel has brought in our traditions and culture in a truly sweet way and with such dignity and professionalism – now it is incumbent on us to continue that standard of service to the community” Rabbi Slavin said.
