2017 B’nai Brith and JNF Game Changers – Jewish Youth & Young Adults Presentation

The 2017 Game Changers have been announced at a function at Sydney’s B’nai B’rith Centre.

Ernie Friedlander, the President of the B’nai B’rith Alfred Dreyfus Anti Defamation Unit  said: “They are a shining light for others to follow. They are all winners and so is the world by benefiting from their efforts. In our world, where there is so much negativity, sceptics, they bring light into the darkness. We are fortunate to find like-minded partners in the JNF to work with a concerted effort to stage the program. Harry Triguboff, our principal sponsors continued support is greatly appreciated “.

The project highlighted the wonderful work and achievement of the nominees.

The winners in Youth Section 14 -18 Year olds:

  • Contribution to the Jewish Community – Joint Winners – Ariella Glasser & Adam Kerbel ( from WA)
  • Contribution to the Australian Society – Gidon Goodman

Young Adults Section 18 -35 Year olds:

  • JNF Contribution to the Jewish Community – Joint Winners – Alexandra Knopoff ( from SA ) & Noa Levin ( from WA )
  • Contribution to the Australian Society – Adam McCurdie
  • Support for the State of Israel – Asher Myerson ( from WA )
  • B’nai B’rith Award for Leadership – Isabella Polgar
  • Educator of the Year – Rabbi Benji Levy

There was also Highly Commended in the Young Adults Section:

  • David Benveniste ( from SA ) – Jewish Community
  • Jordan Epstein – Support for the State of Israel
  • Elias Visontay – Leadership

The judges : Peter Wertheim, Rabbi Mendel Kastel, Rabbi Orna Triguboff, Anat Sultan Dadon & Len Mahemoff  said that they had a very difficult task making a decision and selecting the winners amongst so many worthy candidates.

Etty Ayalon, the JNF National Executive & Program Co-ordinator said: This award ceremony is quickly becoming known as a pool for the next generation of future leaders. Organisations are beginning to look at the Changemaker nominees in order to offer them scholarships, jobs and volunteer opportunities to further their career. Thanks to Anat Sultan Dadon, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Israel, we have now partnered with the Israeli Embassy who moving forward will submit worthy nominees to the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs International Young Leaders Scholarship program.
